Court Rules and Regulations

Follow these court rules and regulations for our 3-on-3 basketball games:

  1. Begin each game by having the home team aim to score the ball.

  2. Choose to play until one team scores 21 points or set a 15-minute time limit with a one-point victory rule.

  3. Score two points for regular baskets and three points for shots made outside the three-point circle.

  4. To restart the game, throw the ball into play. Throw the ball from a spot past the three-point line. This spot should be close to the penalty area. You should do this after scoring or committing a foul.

  5. Put all held balls into play behind the three-point line, alternating possession between teams.

  6. Return the ball across the three-point line on defensive rebounds or steals before attempting a basket.

  7. The court monitor/referee will call fouls, allocate appropriate points, and result in a change of possession.

  8. Apply the bonus rule when a team reaches 15 points, resulting in free throws for fouls against the offence.

  9. Substitute players after a basket or an out-of-bounds play.
